Terms of Use

Effective August 1, 2026

These terms are a legal agreement between you and Green Hat Solutions LLC governing your use of the Green Hat Community app. By creating an account you agree to them.

Green Hat Community is not a replacement for 911 or any emergency service. We do not monitor reports in real time and we do not dispatch responders. In an emergency, call 911 immediately.

1. Your account

You must be 13 or older and provide accurate information. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password secure.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Submit knowingly false, misleading, or malicious reports
Harass, threaten, defame, or intimidate anyone
Use registered-offender information to harass, threaten, or commit any crime against a listed person — this is a criminal offense under Tennessee law
Post unlawful content, or content that infringes someone else's rights
Share another person's private information without permission
Attempt to breach, disrupt, scrape, or reverse engineer the service
Use the app for commercial solicitation without our written permission

We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Members can report content or block other users in the app; we review reported content and act within a reasonable time.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You grant us a non-exclusive license to store, display, and distribute it as needed to operate the service — for example, showing your report to your community. You are responsible for what you post.

4. Subscriptions and billing

Green Hat Community is free to download. Submitting reports and viewing public safety information are free.
Optional paid features include creating private communities, joining private communities, and community messaging.
Consumer subscriptions are billed through your Apple or Google account and renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel in your device's subscription settings.
Cancelling stops future renewals. It does not refund the current period. Your paid features remain available until the end of the period you already paid for, then return to the free tier. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
Where an organization pays for a community, its residents get access to that community at no charge for as long as the organization's account is current. Organization billing is governed by a separate written agreement.
We may change prices with notice; changes never apply to a period you have already paid for.

5. Third-party and public data

The app displays information from government sources, which may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. We provide it as-is and cannot correct those agencies' records. Verify anything important with the issuing agency.

6. Disclaimers and limits

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that alerts will be timely, accurate, complete, or delivered at all.

Green Hat Community provides information and coordination tools only. It does not provide security, emergency response, medical, or legal services, and no content in it is professional advice. Decisions about your safety are yours.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Green Hat Solutions LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on the app, from another user's conduct, or from any failure or delay of a notification. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or one hundred dollars.

7. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Green Hat Solutions LLC against claims arising from your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these terms or the law.

8. Termination

You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for violations of these terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Davidson County, Tennessee.

10. Changes

We may update these terms; the effective date above will change. Continued use means you accept the update.
